This page describes the offline iPhone release 1.0.0. Features advertised elsewhere for Windows, Android or future releases may differ.

Get started

Create a local profile using a nickname and body mass. Height, birth year, max heart rate and threshold power are optional. No online account or internet connection is needed for training. On Home choose Start skiing, select Short, Endurance or Long, Continue, then Free ski, Fixed laps or Workout. Use Demo input to explore without equipment; the effort and riders are clearly simulated. Turn the iPhone sideways for the skiing view.

Equipment

Compatible Concept2 SkiErg PM5 and standard Bluetooth heart-rate straps are supported. Enable Bluetooth in Devices, wake the PM5, place it in Bluetooth connection mode, scan, select the SkiErg and confirm. Choose the strap separately. Last connected devices are remembered. To use a different gym machine, scan and select it; the old connection is replaced. Other ergometers, including Abilica, are not supported on this iPhone release. The app reads data and does not change machine settings.

Save and review

Tap the snow for controls. Hold Stop & save for 2 seconds, End & review, then Save session. Wait for Session saved. Open Sessions to see earlier sessions, graphs, laps and available recovery checkpoints. Discarding an unsaved course session preserves earlier saved sessions.

Time and app switching

The HUD shows moving time as Time. Details retain elapsed time including stops and app switches. The screen stays awake during an active session. iOS may suspend the 3D view or sensor delivery when the app is backgrounded. Returning to the app resumes/reloads the view as needed; gaps are not filled with invented sensor data.

Exports

Saved 3D sessions can be shared as TCX files. Virtual course distance is separate from measured PM5 machine distance. Course exports exclude heart rate by default and never contain GPS positions. Demo exports are labelled simulated. There are no online races, Google login or automatic Strava uploads in this release.

Recovery and comfort

If the game fails to load, use Retry; do not delete the app or clear its data while diagnosing a problem. Previously saved sessions and available checkpoints remain under Sessions. The 3D engine sleeps in ordinary menus. Sustained 3D training can use more power and generate warmth; avoid direct sunlight and follow iPhone temperature warnings.

Privacy

What helps us answer

  • Which machine you use — and on iPhone, the app version, iPhone model and iOS version
  • Which device you are on — Windows PC, iPhone or Android
  • What you expected to happen, and what happened instead, with the exact error
  • When it started, and whether it happens every time

One way in

The contact form above is the only route to us — it reaches the same person either way. Please do not include passwords or unnecessary health information.

QUICK ANSWERS

Before you write.

Do I need a machine on iPhone?

No. The iPhone app can be tried with clearly labelled simulated Demo input. For real training it supports the Concept2 SkiErg PM5 and standard Bluetooth heart-rate straps only — Abilica is not supported on iPhone 1.0.0.

Windows PC and Android?

Coming soon — not available yet. Abilica ski ergs are planned for those versions; details may differ from the iPhone release.

Future features

Online races, training with friends, cloud accounts and Strava upload are not part of iPhone 1.0.0. They are planned for later releases.
